Multi-day Field Trips
Multi-day field trips are an integral part of the education process at San Jose Christian School. These trips begin in fourth grade and continue through seventh. In fourth grade, students spend three days at a camp located in the Sierra Nevada foothills participating in engaging activities that focus on the California gold rush. These activities nicely compliment lessons from the fourth grade Social Studies curriculum. In fifth grade, students spend a week at Mount Hermon's Science camp where they embark on nature hikes, participate in independence building activities, and explore God's creation.
In the spring of sixth grade, students spend three days camping. During their trip students explore tide pools, go kayaking, and participate in activities aligning with our Science curriculum. Lastly, led by a new spiritual leader each year, seventh graders spend three days at a Spiritual Retreat where they participate in worship and are challenged to build their faith and reflect on God's love. This spiritual retreat takes place in the fall and sets a strong foundation for the school year.
