Accelerated Reading Program
The Accelerated Reader Program (ARP) is offered to our students to encourage good/enjoyable reading habits. Students are asked to choose books from a vast list of titles, read one and then take a computer generated comprehension exam.
Students "earn" ARP points (point value dependent on the reading level of each book) for their successful completion. Points are redeemable in our ARP "store" on a regular basis.
ARP participation is mandatory beginning in 3rd grade. A percentage of the students Language Arts grade is dependent on this participation. The number of "points" they accumulate over each grading period determines the grade.
