Preschool
at San Jose Christian School
San Jose Christian Preschool's curriculum
is designed to nurture and help grow the whole child:
spiritually, emotionally, cognitively, emotionally and
physically. Our goal is to prepare children with a full
and solid foundation that will equip them with an excellent
beginning to their academic journey. Our curriculum incorporates
monthly themes addressing scripture, Bible stories, letters,

Circle time, small groups, large groups and free play.
From our Preschool Director, Mrs.
Valerie Arballo
This is many of our children's first
school experience. Our focus is on practicing basic skills
in the areas of social development, fine motor, academics,
personal hygiene, and self-discipline. We approach each
day and all situations from a biblical perspective teaching
the children right from wrong according to the scriptures.
We strive to provide a very warm and loving environment
where children are encouraged to learn and grow at their
own individual pace. We have a close-knit community where
family is celebrated and our classroom feels almost as
comfortable as being at home.
Our curriculum is theme based and while
we do introduce the children to letters and numbers, our
primary focus is pre-writing and pre-reading skills taught
through many conceptual based activities.
Children in our classroom are learning color recognition,
patterning skills, eye-hand coordination, spatial skills,
one-to-one correspondence, and many other skills that
are needed prior to reading and writing. We want our children
to move on to Jr. Kindergarten or Kindergarten with a
solid foundation of basic skills in both social and academic
areas as well as a strong understanding of who Jesus is
and their relationship to him.
Please contact me with your questions
and comments I welcome the opportunity to introduce our
program to you in more detail.
