Personal Biography
I grew up in the Santa Cruz Mountains,
and work brought me to San Jose in 1994. In 2002, my husband,
Peter, and I were married. Peter is a local boy and attended
school on our campus, formerly Dover School, when he was
a kid. We have two boysCarson who is 5 years old
and Mason who is 3. Carson is in Miss Braaksmas
Kindergarten class this year, and Mason will attend one
more year at Promise Land Preschool before he starts Junior
Kindergarten next year. My favorite activity is dirt bike
riding, but I also enjoy reading and movies. I am a member
of Cambrian Church where I often have the opportunity
to teach Sunday school to K 3rd graders.
Christian Philosophy of Education
Christian education not only focuses
on academic excellence, but it also addresses the importance
of morality. Theodore Roosevelt said it so well, To
train a man in mind and not in morals is to train a menace
to society. I strive to teach the importance of
putting the welfare of others first and how meaningful
and rewarding it is to being committed to serving others.
I am especially proud to be a part of San Jose Christian
School's Extended Care program because unlike other daycare
programs, at SJCS daycare and summer camp are a direct
extension of the school with the same mission, goals and
objectives, to nurture Christian values in our students.
The Extended Care staff encourages all students to demonstrate
respect and self-control; to be considerate and kind;
and to follow the Golden Rule as found in Matthew 7:12:
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
