Biography
I graduated
from Grand Rapids Junior College as a licensed vocational
nurse. After practicing at a local hospital in Grand Rapids,
MI for a couple years, I moved to Hawaii. I had the privilege
of working at Queens Medical Center, a teaching
hospital with a medical school. I was able to take further
training to work in ICU where I stayed for the majority
of the 12 years that I lived there. In 1984 I came to
California and worked at Stanford Medical Clinics until
1996.
I took a 2-year hiatus from work to
welcome my second child into the family through the foster-adoption
program. Attempting to get back into a nursing position,
God led me to a job at SJCS. It was such a blessing to
be able to use my skills, be close to my children, and
have work hours that matched their school hours. In 1998
I began working in the office as the bookkeeper and have
worn many hats since, including office secretary, front
desk receptionist, admissions director, and school nurse.
As the school has been blessed with growth so has the
office staff support. I am now the office manager and
Human Resources coordinator for the school, and its
my job to know where everyone and everything is to help
SJCS run smoothly.
Personal Biography
I grew up in Byron Center, Michigan.
My five siblings and their families continue to live there.
I have two children, both of whom attended SJCS from Junior
Kindergarten through 8th grade. My daughter Lauren is
now living with my family in Michigan while she is going
to college. My son, Chris, is attending high school in
Mountain View. I spend my recreational time in my garden,
hiking, going to the beach or visiting friends. Exploring
new areas by going on road trips is one of my favorite
things to do. Seeing places like El Capitan in Yosemite
makes me appreciate the awesomeness of God and his creation.
I am a member at Peninsula Bible ChurchNorth, and
I enjoy my time there a great deal.
Christian Philosophy of Education
Helping families raise their children
in a Christ-centered environment, whether in the home,
church, or school has always been a priority to me. At
SJCS, we seek to provide our children a firm foundation
of Biblical teaching so that with Gods help they
will have the wisdom and tools necessary to live effectively
in this world for which God has charged us to care. I
hope that in helping to manage the schools resources,
I can assist in making San Jose Christian School the most
dynamic school it can be. I strive to exemplify the mission
of our school anytime I interact with people both inside
and outside our school community.
